Femke Bol × Free a Girl · Customer Stories · 2024
5KtoFreeAGirl
An athlete and a movement, told in a single, unbroken stride.
Campaign
Portait of Femke
Some stories carry a weight of their own. This film follows Olympic champion Femke Bol as she lends her voice and presence to Free a Girl, an organisation fighting child exploitation. It is a portrait of what happens when personal drive meets a cause bigger than any single career, and it is built around the belief that awareness is only the first step.

Challenge
Films that combine athletes, celebrity and cause often risk feeling like campaigns rather than stories. This project needed to feel neither promotional nor performative. The challenge was to keep Femke's presence honest while giving Free a Girl the space to communicate its mission with clarity, urgency and dignity.
Approach
We built the film around quiet strength. Slow, deliberate camera work and intimate framing keep Femke at eye level with the audience, while carefully written voiceover gives space for the cause itself. A restrained edit and considered sound design create a film that stays with the viewer longer than the runtime.
Execution
Production combined controlled studio work with location scenes to build the film's visual world. Cinematic lighting, natural sound and a restrained colour palette give the piece a premium, editorial tone. The edit was designed to carry weight without ever tipping into melodrama, letting the message land on its own terms.
Results
- A campaign film that raises awareness for Free a Girl through a genuinely personal lens.
- A high impact hero asset used across social, press and campaign moments.
- A film that reflects both Femke Bol's integrity and the mission she chose to support.
