Three Years, One Journey
A 20-minute documentary about learning, working and growing together during a three-year journey at Albert Heijn.
Three years can completely shape the start of a career. This documentary follows employees as they reflect on their journey through Albert Heijn's three-year internship programme. Through personal stories, the film captures how they grew professionally and personally, the friendships they built and the experiences that prepared them for the next step in their careers. Rather than promoting the programme, the documentary lets the participants tell the story themselves.

Challenge
Three years of working and learning at Albert Heijn cannot be captured in a conventional corporate film. The challenge was to bring together the participants’ different experiences and personal development in one coherent story—while creating an honest portrait of what it feels like to grow within such a large and familiar organisation.
Approach
We built the 20-minute documentary around the personal stories of the participants. Through reflective interviews and carefully selected moments from their journey, they look back on the experiences, relationships and challenges that shaped them. Rather than explaining the programme from the outside, the film allows the employees to tell the story in their own words.
Execution
The documentary was shaped through intimate interviews, archive material and moments captured throughout the programme. In the edit, we connected three years of experiences into one flowing narrative—balancing personal reflection with the energy of working at Albert Heijn. The result is a carefully paced 20-minute film that feels personal, honest and cinematic.
Results
- The result is a warm and personal documentary that captures both individual growth and the shared experience of working at Albert Heijn. A lasting portrait for the participants themselves, as well as an authentic employer-branding story about learning, opportunity and development within the organisation.
